Salsa Sensations Review

salsa sensations review

Salsa Sensations is a brand new product that just became available to the public in September, exclusively at Wal-Mart. Its popularity is growing like wildfire and, after tasting it, I know why.

Salsa Sensations comes in three different spicy levels, so you can select the one that suits your personal preference. I’ve tried all three and, as a salsa lover, was really pleased with each one.

As far as store bought salsas go, I’ve always been a skeptic. Growing up in a mixed-culture household, I’ve grown accustomed to rich, thick, flavorful homemade salsas, and I’ve never found a jarred brand that even came close.

Until today.

The first indication of freshness and quality, is that Salsa Sensations salsas aren’t kept in some sealed jar in the chip aisle at the supermarket. Because they’re so fresh, they have to be displayed on a refrigerated shelf. That really impresses me, because I know it hasn’t been bottled and sitting around for who knows how long.

I decided to review the three flavors in order of intensity; mild, medium, hot.

Mild Salsa Sensations Review: The flavor is delicious. It reminds me a lot of a salsa you’d find in a great Mexican restaurant. There’s a ton of flavor, with a heat that builds gradually as you eat it. My kids, who aren’t into super spicy foods, couldn’t get enough of it. I highly recommend the mild flavor for anyone who likes authentic Mexican cuisine, but doesn’t enjoy super-spicy fare.

salsa sensations reviewMedium Salsa Sensations Review: There is definitely more spice to this salsa. I liked it a lot, because the heat was well-balanced with the flavor. It was a little too intense to share with the kids, but my husband’s immediate reaction was, “This is the one for me.” Then he grabbed his glass of ice tea…and resumed munching. I think the medium salsa would be perfect for taco dip and am anxious to test the theory!

Hot Salsa Sensations Review: Whew! If you like a little salsa with your fire, this is the one for you…and me. I love, love, love it. Again, flavor wasn’t compromised for sheer firepower, but it definitely cleared my sinuses. I like my salsa to be hot, but to still have a rich flavor quality to it. Salsa Sensations “hot” is totally killer, in a scrumptious way. I will definitely be bringing it home to my dad. He’s a man who takes his salsa seriously, and I know he’ll be impressed.

Overall, my family really enjoyed the Salsa Sensations brand salsas. They offered a perfect fit for each of our tastes. It’s evident that high quality ingredients such as sun-ripened tomatoes, cilantro, onion, garlic and peppers were chosen carefully for each blend.

salsa sensations consistencyThe only improvement I can suggest is that I’d like to see a chunky line of Salsa Sensations salsas, but that’s a personal preference thing. My husband, who likes a smoother salsa, was in heaven. If you enjoy a slightly chunky, but well-blended consistency, you’ll love the texture of Salsa Sensations.

Another attractive quality of the Salsa Sensations family, is that they’re a pretty healthy snack alternative. There are only 10 calories per serving and fat and cholesterol free. It’s not often that I come across a snack that’s as kind to my waistline as it is tasty. So awesome.

If you’d like to try Salsa Sensations for yourself, they retail for under $2 at Wal-Marts in 48 states. To find out if they’re available in your area, click here.
