14 Happies from the Past Seven Days

As I said last Sunday, I'm going to be posting a Goal of the Week. Last weeks was to make a list of things in your life that make you happy. I was wicked busy this week between my regular work and having the boys home for break, so I tailored the goal to fit my schedule. Each evening I jotted down two things that made me happy that day. Here are my happies from this past week. 1. I spent an hour watching my eldest son playing his favorite video game. Seeing him so happy and excited to share something he really enjoys and answer my questions was a nice way to connect with him. We both had a … [Read more...]

My Chick Cave: The Beginning

I really like decorating with a feminine, whimsical flair. I love flowers, polka dots and lots of pretty colors -- especially pink. But, being the only gal in a family of five, it doesn't seem right to cover the Cooper Mansion in sprays of blush and bashful. So, to be fair to my four best guys, I try to keep the decorating gender neutral. Thankfully, since we moved to our new house, I've been able to carve out a little space for myself. What I think was originally intended to be a pantry area or mudroom has been designated as my little sanctuary. My office. My Chick Cave. I'm really … [Read more...]

Goal of the Week: Week 1 – Make the list!

I'll tell ya, I started 2013 with some serious momentum. I was living a vegetarian lifestyle, had kicked the cigs and had lofty goals for the year, which I was determined to make happen. Excerpt from Death Dealer by Ashley Robertson

Excerpt from Death Dealer by Ashley Robertson It became harder to breathe as Mia fought the tears that had, unbeknownst to her until now, welled up in her eyes while she’d been lost in thought. Barely Alive by Bonnie R. Paulson Book Review

Barely Alive Review Disclosure: I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest and fair review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Anybody who knows me knows that I was a HUGE zombie fan before The Walking Dead and local zombie runs made it mainstream cool. I was a little girl when I saw my first zombie flicks and I've loved them ever since. What girl doesn't love some decomposing, flesh-craving, undead shamble action on a dark and stormy night, right? One of the things I love so much about zombies is that every writer or filmmaker has his or her own take on how … [Read more...]
