Goal of the Week: Week Two – Style change!

Last week I said I would be throwing out one goal per week that can be tailored to our individual lives. The goals will range from organizing things in our environments and braving new experiences to connecting with or helping others around us. They'll be simple, but they'll hopefully add a little something extra to our weeks. Come here every Sunday to see what the week's goal is. From there, you can share as much or as little as you would like. If you'd like a reminder to check the week's goal, make sure you're following Mama's Got Flair on Facebook and I'll post the link as soon as … [Read more...]

Goal of the Week: Week 1 – Make the list!

I'll tell ya, I started 2013 with some serious momentum. I was living a vegetarian lifestyle, had kicked the cigs and had lofty goals for the year, which I was determined to make happen. Then, some heavy stuff hit in the early spring, causing an emotional tailspin that left me stressed and lost for the rest of the year. Ghandi, King and Carlin – Mama’s Favorite Quotes #31DayMarch

Today's prompt in the 31 Day Challenge is Favorite Quotes. The number of fabulous quotes that are floating around are overwhelming, but I have whittled out five that resonate with me. Here they are, along with what they mean to me. Be the change that you wish to see in the world. ~ Mahatma Gandhi~ This quote reminds me that all the whining, fussing, complaining, gossiping, judging and criticizing in the world will NEVER move anyone forward. If I want to see things happening differently around me, I need to make it happen in my own life and hope that others may be inspired by my example. … [Read more...]

Is it time for a swear jar?

Know someone who could benefit from an extra reminder not to cuss? Maybe it's time for a swear jar. You've heard of them right? No? The basic idea is that nothing stings an adult like punishing the pocketbook. So, whenever the household potty mouth utters a swear word, he or she has to put a predetermined amount of money into the swear jar as a reminder that no good comes from cussing. Every time a bad word comes out, a little dough goes in. The money can be set aside for vacation spending money, a trip to the ice cream shop or a pedicure for mommy--whatever your "family" decides. ;) … [Read more...]
