On Amy's recommendation, the hubz and I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, a feature documentary about a fellow named Joe Cross who decided to battle his rare chronic illness and (unfortunately, not so rare) obesity by going on a 60-day juice fast. During the summer, I started doing a daily Zumba workout to a video playlist I put together on YouTube. I fell off the workout wagon after some family stuff took priority, and I've been super slow to get back on. Today, I looked in the mirror and just didn't like what I saw. Not only have I gained back all the weight I'd lost, but I just wasn't anywhere near as happy with everything in my life as I was when I was working out and eating right. I've been thinking about my weight loss journey - how far I've come and how much I've backslid at times. After some real soul searching, it occurred to me that every time I yo-yoed, I'd use every excuse in the book not to exercise and eat right, and make it okay to just wait one more day.
