About Caelum – Olde City Angels Book 1

Eva doesn’t claim to be a good guardian angel, but she tries. After she loses two charges, the Powers That Be begin to doubt her abilities. To redeem herself, Eva sets out to rescue Elsie, granddaughter of the former king of the Fae. A demon has kidnapped Elsie to complete an ancient ritual that will allow him to slip through the veil between Earth and Hell during the Sturgeon moon.

Thomas, an angel liaison, finally lands his first mission. But when he’s paired with the angel responsible for his uncle’s death, he has to put aside their differences to get the job done.

With unlikely friends in tow, Eva and Thomas are in a race against time. Save Elsie, save the world—oh, and save Eva’s job.

My Review of Caelum by Mandie Stevens

Supernatural books really trip my trigger, so I was eager to get my hands on Mandie Stevens’ book, Caelum. This page-turner breathes fresh new life into paranormal reads, with a fabulous melding of the angel versus demon and supernatural beings genres.

Eva is a well-meaning guardian angel that just can’t seem to get things right. Her attraction to bad boy vampire, Soren, clouds her thinking and leads to distraction that costs lives. Now, under the watchful eyes of The Fates, she must redeem herself or face eternity in Hell. Partnered with human angel liaison, Thomas, Eva has to work with a community of paranormal beings to save her charge, Elsie. From vampires and werewolves to ghosts and fae, she has to figure out how to work with all of them to successfully complete her mission.

I LOVED this book! Not only was the storyline compelling, but the humanity in all the characters, most of whom weren’t even human, was a tasty twist that gave it that something extra special. You never knew who — or what — you were going to meet next. I was totally hooked at the gargoyle cop.

The best part for me, though, was that neither Eva nor Thomas was a squeaky clean embodiment of what you’d expect of a guardian angel or chosen human partner. They both have quirks and issues of their own, as well as with each other, yet they make an exceptional team.

Caelum, by Mandie Stevens was a fast read that left me wanting more. I absolutely can’t wait for the next book in this series, Olde City Angels.

About the Author

Mandie Stevens has always been accused of living in her own world so she decided to put it to paper. When she isn’t Mandiebiowriting you can catch her lounging on the beach reading. She has ridiculously little feet and would be happy eating seafood every day.
