Annie Crow Knoll: Sunrise by Gail Priest Book Review

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love spunky, adventurous characters and I could tell from the start that Annie was going to be my kind of girl. Every woman who’s survived any real living knows it takes some strong spirit to keep jumping the various hurdles life lays out and continue running.  On the knoll, Annie was a total champ throughout the whole book – no matter the challenge.

Annie Crow Knoll-Sunrise is the story of an incredibly determined young lady charged with shouldering the weight of running her family’s summer retreat property after her parents pass away. It was an emotional read full of laughs, tears, love, hope and courage that kept me totally hooked from start to finish.

Besides the engaging story, the scenery Gail Priest painted was an absolute dream. I’ve always had that romantic inner yearning to summer in a fabulous beachside cottage, melting into my surroundings and just being. Sigh.

I loved Annie Crow Knoll: Sunrise for so many reasons. Annie’s determination through her life’s struggles was inspiring and her journey just totally emotionally captivating. I love a story that isn’t all peaches and cream, romance and fairytale happiness because that’s just not how reality works. Priest’s writing drew me in because I felt as though I was silently venturing along with Annie and can’t wait for the next book to continue the tale.
