*I’m unfortunately having trouble getting my pictures to load, but I will add them as soon as possible.
I have a houseful of boys and when it comes to playtime, messy is just part of the gig. Squeaky clean homes and kids are way overrated anyway, right? Since my kids will only be little once, my husband and I embrace the sloppy fun, because we feel that memories made are well worth a little extra cleanup.
When my family was given the opportunity to enjoy some messy outdoor play with Crayola Outdoor Colored Bubbles and the Bubble Launcher I was totally excited! Everyone loves bubbles, and in bright, vivid colors? Sign. Me. Up.
When the package arrived my boys went wild. They love getting to be part of reviews, and what adventurous little dude wouldn’t want to get his hands on bubble launcher?

Before we got started, I took note of some of Crayola’s Tips for playing with the Outdoor Colored Bubbles and Bubble Launcher:
- Dress for Mess. Wear washable play clothes and shoes. It’s best to not wear suede, leather or any other material that can’t be washed.
- Play Outside. An open grassy area is best away from new concrete, decks and porous surfaces like marble. Don’t use at formal events like weddings.
- Rub skin to remove color.
- Launder clothes promptly with water and detergent. Repeat washing may be needed.
- Hose off outdoor surfaces like sidewalks and driveways to wash away color.
I’m glad I took their advice, because when it comes to bubbles, there’s a great chance that the fun is going to get messy. Even though the Bubble Launcher was easy to fill and use, some spills did happen and fuchsia hands are fun during playtime, but not so much at the grocery store. Plus, there was absolutely no way my guys were going to miss an opportunity to pop the ridiculous amounts of bubbles that came from the launcher. That would be redonkulous.
While the boys–and my husband–enjoyed using the bubble wand that came with the bubbles, the real excitement came when using the Bubble Launcher.

It made oodles of pretty, colorful bubbles with a single turn. I was actually surprised by how easy it was to use and how vibrant the colors of the bubbles were.
By the time we were done playing with the bubbles, we all had a fair share of yellow, pink and purple splashes on our arms and clothes. Thankfully, the cleanup was as easy as Crayola promised. Some warm soap and water was enough to get our skin clean, though my youngest needed a full bath, and we threw their clothes right in the wash and everything came out in the first wash.
All in all, I have to say, if you’re not afraid of a little messy fun, your family will love Crayola Outdoor Colored Bubbles. They’re a total blast and the extra cleanup is totally worth it. We love them and have used them a few times already.
