When it comes to music, I genuinely enjoy most genres, so when I was offered the opportunity to review Yanni’s newest album, Truth of Touch, I totally had to go for it. A girl never knows when she’s going to find something new that she really likes.
I listened to Truth of Touch several times, and each time picked out new, cool elements that he’d used to put his songs together. I have limited experience with Yanni’s previous works, so I wasn’t sure just exactly what to expect.
Truth be told, I went into my first listen thinking the album would be a pleasant blend of melodies, that would sort of fade into background music as I went about my day. I was wrong. While the music was definitely pleasant to listen to, each song was it’s own unique entity, some vibrant, some melodic and some just plain unusual, in a good way.
The thing that I like the most about the album is that it’s obvious that each piece was created to stand on it’s own. The majority of the 15 tracks are instrumental, but there are a few with incredible vocals. My favorite is “Can’t Wait.” It’s emotional, romantic and haunting. Just beautiful.
I really enjoy this album. It’s an interesting mix of music, which in turn stirs different emotions. It’s not too often you find an album that’s relaxing, but motivating, too.
Very, beautifully done. I’m officially a Yanni fan.
Truth of Touch is Yanni’s first album of original compositions to be released in eight years and is currently available in stores now. He’s currently on tour in the US. For tour dates in your area, CLICK HERE.

I have always enjoyed Yanni and it is very refreshing to hear that someone of your age can appreciate his music too. My sons just chaulked it up to “mom’s strange music” as I also listen to John Tesh, Vanessa Mae and Nova Era. Yea for diversity in everything including music.
I totally agree. Diversity is beautiful and that totally includes music. I love to rock a blend of music all the time. It’s a family gene.
I’ll have to check out Vanessa Mae. I haven’t heard of her. Thanks for the heads up! ~Jessi
