Dotmine Planner Review and Giveaway-NOW CLOSED

dotmine review

Okay, so when the opportunity to review the Dotmine family_time.mine planner came my way, I totally geeked out. Not only did I need a great planner, but I am a FREAK about planners and agenda books. I'm a modern girl and enjoy electronic methods of list and agenda keeping, but there's just something about writing things down in a well-organized planner and getting to cross off each accomplishment that really toots my whistle. And I'm EXTREMELY picky about planners. In fact, I bought a leading mom-friendly brand for this year and after using it for two weeks, it now sits, collecting dust, … [Read more...]

Saving Money Shopping Online

save money shopping online

I'm delighted to have a guest post today from blogger and freelancer, Maria Rainier. She offered to share tips on saving money shopping online and I gobbled up the opportunity. Her ideas are great and my debit card and I are super thankful! ~Jessi We’d all love to have Lindsay Lohan’s unlimited black AmEx card and be able to shop at all the trendy LA clothing boutiques and have designers throwing clothes at us to wear at posh parties. Unfortunately, not only will most of us never even see a black AmEx card, but most of us will also be scraping together our pennies just to buy this … [Read more...]

Kids Cost Bucks

kids cost bucks

Children are cute and all, but they're a lifetime investment. I think someone needs to explain this simple truth to kids when they're going through sex ed in school. In fact, there should be a financial component to the lesson. Sure, some programs provide teens with dolls that wail randomly throughout the night, or, in my case, egg babies that need to be handled with care. While I give them props for providing children with a glimpse of the not so attractive aspects of having a newborn, that doesn't even cover the tip of the tip of the iceberg. I'm not even going to go into the minor … [Read more...]

Plus Size Fashion: Are You Truly Marketing to the Curvy Crowd?

plus size fashion

I've struggled with my weight all my life. When I was in high school, I wore a size 14-16. Most of my friends wore a size six. We'd go shopping, as girls in high school do, and I'd be jealous of the racks and racks of choices they had and embarrassed about hanging out in the women's section. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'm not embarrassed. I'm working on losing weight for health reasons, but I'm comfortable in my skin. Still, shopping isn't very fun. Selections are limited for bigger gals in my area and while there are several shops that sell plus size fashion merchandise, they're … [Read more...]

Salsa Sensations Review

Salsa Sensations Review

Salsa Sensations is a brand new product that just became available to the public in September, exclusively at Wal-Mart. Its popularity is growing like wildfire and, after tasting it, I know why. Salsa Sensations comes in three different spicy levels, so you can select the one that suits your personal preference. I've tried all three and, as a salsa lover, was really pleased with each one. As far as store bought salsas go, I've always been a skeptic. Growing up in a mixed-culture household, I've grown accustomed to rich, thick, flavorful homemade salsas, and I've never found a jarred … [Read more...]

Chick Flick Pick: Steel Magnolias

steel magnolias

Steel Magnolias (Sony Pictures, 1989) has a special place in my heart. I've always been a sucker for a good laugh and cry flick, but this movie goes way deeper than that. Not only does it have an amazing cast, but the story is heartwarming, hilarious and tragic all in one incredible package. I fell in love with Steel Magnolias the first time I watched it, mind you, I was 10 years old at the time, but as a woman, my connection to the movie became much deeper and intimate. I've given you bits and pieces of my childbearing history and the loss of my son, Aiden, but if you've never visited … [Read more...]
